Waves Goodbye
We were both pretty stoked even to get a few mushy storm waves before we start the long journey north tomorrow.
Surfing — while we don’t do it as often as we’d like — is something Kristian and I have always been pumped to do together since he was just a little kid, so this seemed like a fitting final evening on the island until he returns home during Thanksgiving break.
The waves weren’t great — they never really are here — but the lighting was nice, the water was refreshing, and we were the only two out there. There was a small gallery of people watching and clapping from The Afterdeck at Louie’s Backyard for super minor rides we caught into the beach — and that always makes you smile.
As we were getting out of the water, Kristian asked if we could get a photo — something he generally hates even though he’s been the subject of thousands of my flicks through the years.
Maybe he can hang this one on the wall in his new dorm. I'll try to remember to get photos of his room on move-in day…
